We innovated our industry once again 

I recently had the incredible opportunity to host a 6-day Leather Summit in Melbourne, Florida, and the experience left me feeling overwhelmingly thankful and emotional. The summit was a transformative journey that not only deepened my understanding of the diverse industry we are in, but also enriched my soul in ways I never anticipated.

From the very beginning, the warm welcome from Ray and Paige, with a genuine camaraderie among fellow enthusiasts set the tone for an unforgettable week. We were a diverse group, brought together by our shared passion for elevating our industry. Each person had a unique story, and the common thread was our love for this for collaboration, growth and learning new skills.

As the days unfolded, we immersed ourselves in hands-on workshops, learning new techniques and honing our skills under the guidance of skilled craftsmen from different backgrounds. The atmosphere was one of collaboration and support, as everyone encouraged each other to push boundaries and unlock creativity.

Every session brought a surge of emotions - excitement, awe, and even a touch of frustration at times, as we navigated the intricate details of repairing leather. But in those moments of challenge, I found immense gratitude for the opportunity to learn and grow, from everyone who stepped up and took charge, with skill sets they had to offer solutions.

The connections forged during those six days were perhaps the most profound aspect of the experience. Conversations flowed effortlessly, sharing personal stories and inspirations. We discussed techniques, tools, and even failures, which turned into valuable learning experiences.

Witnessing the dedication and passion of my fellow attendees was truly moving. Everyone had their unique reasons for choosing this path - some sought a creative outlet, while others aimed to turn this event into a livelihood for running training courses. The determination and grit displayed by each individual were inspiring and served as a reminder to pursue our dreams relentlessly. It was a very emotional journey for me, as people stepped up, without question and helped each other, we became an unstopped group of professionals.

A full day was dedicated to discussing strategies for utilising platforms like Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Pinterest to showcase our skills, connect with fellow industry professionals, and even build a business. The summit emphasised the importance of the engaging an online presence that accurately represents our identity and work.

We learned that genuine engagement with our audience is key. Sharing our creative process, behind-the-scenes glimpses, and personal stories resonates with our followers and potential customers, giving them a deeper understanding of the diverse industry we are in and dedication that goes into each job.

However, the summit also emphasised the importance of having a website as well as many other features to build up awareness for your brand, this wasn’t just a 6 day course about leather, this was a full package for a businesses to elevate to new heights, learning about profits, market exposure, accounts and software solution to improve productivity.

On the final day, as we bid farewell and exchanged contact information, a wave of mixed emotions washed over me. Gratitude welled up for the memories made, the knowledge gained, and the friendships formed. The journey doesn’t end there; it’s a stepping stone toward a greater appreciation for the art of leather and a deeper connection to a community that felt like family.

In conclusion, this was a FREE 6 day training event that so many learnt from, not just about leather, but running a business and social media networking. The 6-day Leather Summit in Melbourne, Florida, was an experience that left an indelible mark on my heart. It reminded me of the power of shared passion, learning, and human connections. I am immensely thankful for this adventure, and I look forward to continuing this journey, fuelled by the memories and friendships created during those six extraordinary days.
