The type of spraying equipment to use range from a fine airbrush to full-size spraying equipment without causing blockages. The best spray gun we have found that we always use in house is the HLVP spray gun, More importantly, is the flexibility of the pigmented PU leather colourants, once applied they provide a truly outstanding result guaranteed. Has fantastic UV protection and the waterproofing properties are truly astonishing. The PU Leather Colourants pigment adhesion is amazing they have been designed for use on colour repairs, restoration and jobs where a complete colour change is required. We have manufactured them with a high pigment content allowing the coverage to be far better than any other on the market place. All you need in most cases is one or two applications at the most and the item is covered.

They won’t dry out after a few years when applied to your leather goods, all colourants provide the most luxurious feel when touched. The leather colourants provide a feel possibly far better than when your item was made originally. This allows just one or two applications of leather colourants so you don’t end up with a plastic feel and look like most other products offer.

Scuff Resistance: They have the ability to resist scuffs and scratches unless heavily forced. The leather colourants create this barrier on the surface, that is stronger than the original surface, probably making them last longer than all the original coatings.

Extremely Flexible: The leather colourants can withstand up to 100,000 flexes. They are extremely hard wearing & provide high colour coverage. Leather Colourants are soft, luxurious & have a natural look & feel. Available in 22 standard colours or one of over 50,000 colours in our database. We offer a Colour matching service to match your leather exactly, select the item called Special Colour Made To Order from the drop-down menu – then tell us your colour or send in a good sized sample. The leather colourants are simple and easy to use.

Shake the bottle well to make sure the colourants are well mixed together.

Once you have cleaned all the surface down and carried the prep work, you can then start to sponge on your colour.

First of all wipe on a single coating, then once this is dry you can proceed to apply a second coating by dabbing on the colour which also helps to retain the leather grain structure

Once this is done all over, you can dry this with a hair drier and check to make sure everything is covered evenly.

Spraying On Colour

Due to how the colourant dyes are made some dyes are thicker than others, the best way to thin them is using a small amount of lacquer that comes with your colour repair kit. But you can add a small amount of water if you wish, do not put in too much water as this will affect the covering power of the colourant paint.

It’s always best to apply the first coating using a sponge and then spray afterwards, do not spray from the start.

When adding water 10% should be sufficient

An airbrush type gun is best with a No5 needle spraying at around 20psi

Cleaning Out Spray Guns

Cleaning out spray guns is simple as products are water based, so you can wash the gun through with warm water or thinners if you wish.
