The Gel Degreaser is widely used to remove a multitude of grease stains, like body oils, head grease, sweat, grime, animal oils and body fluids, air freshener spots and so much more. It works by drawing out the grease to the surface as works, its a medium thickness paste, that’s applied and allowed to dry to a white powder, where its removed grease the top surface will dry a green / brown colour, this is the grease that been drawn out of the leather. Its commonly used by professionals around the world to remove head grease, hand grease, food grease and oils.
The gel degreaser can be used a large number of leathers and items, from clothing to car interiors, furniture to handbags, shoes to table tops and so much more. For best results once the gel degreaser has been applied and its lifted the grease out and its colour has changed use a vacuum to vacuum away the powder. By vacuuming this will draw the balance of the grease out of the leather, its always best to do the application twice to remove all traces of grease.
Clean the leather item with the leather cleaner this can be sprayed directly onto the leather or on to a soft terry towel, make sure the leather is thoroughly socked so that you can squeeze the leather cleaner through the terry towel to help penetrate in to the grease to start to break this down.
Then apply the gel degreaser with a spatula or brush ensuring a good even coating has been applied.
You should allow this to dry fully, where the powder has lifted the grease out if will go a drown / green colour, this can then be vacuumed off to ensure you remove the grease or stain fully. All other areas will go a white powder where grease has not be absorbed by the leather.
You may find after using this product that you have to carry out a colour restoration process as it can draw out the colour as well, where the grease has attacked the leather and broken down the coloured surface, colouring kits can be found here starting from a small colour repair kit
